Eternal life resource
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
3 most important questions
How’d we get here? What are we doing here? How are we leaving here?
This life is ultimately temporary. We work hard and love what we do, but at the end of it all though, what are we all really doing and what’s all this about?
How’d we get here?
We got here because I unashamed and without any doubt know that God created the heavens and the earth and everything in it. The abundance of hard evidence is overwhelming. I simply don’t have the amount of faith it would take to be an atheist. From the wild animals to our human DNA and the even the beautiful plants we put in the ground, the evidence of an intelligent design is unquestionable. The fact that we are separate from the animal world and can ask questions and wonder about the world around us. A great teacher once asked, “what department in salt water came up with that?” That question can be applied to every other question about our origins and science. “What department in salt water made those decisions?” A great question considering the secular world seems to believe we all came from some amoeba. In a world where everything falls apart, breaks down, deteriorates, ages, and dies; all of this information and matter somehow assembled itself by random chance… I don’t think so dude. Some are searching (some of which with lengthy college degrees and pedigrees) so hard for the answers that are right in front of them. The paradigm they live in is so set on there not being a God that they completely miss it.
What are we doing?
We are God’s creation. My purpose is to serve God and provide for my family. I have been commissioned by God to be a light in the darkness and to be an ambassador of Christ. I am a flawed human. I have sinned and fall short. I am far from perfect. I am very much a work in progress, and I know that I will make mistakes. I know though that Jesus has already paid the price for those sins and they were nailed to a cross.
9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
2 Corinthians 12:9
Where are we going?
God has made a way to escape the death of this planet. He has provided a pathway to eternal life.
Jesus came and died the death we should have had and took on the sins of the world as a perfect, blameless and spotless sacrifice. But because God is life, death could not keep its hold on Him and he rose 3 days later. For those who believe in Him and turn from their wicked ways shall not perish but have eternal life.
Jesus speaking about those who follow him.
John 10:27-29 NLT
27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, 29 for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else.
John 14:1-3 NKJV
1 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
Not all will inherit the Kingdom of God though. Do not be deceived. Decisions have to be made. Actions must be taken. Your life must be changed.
9 Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, fornicators, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, 10 or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people-none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. Glorify God in Body and Spirit.
I know where I am going … Do you?
